Digital Services Product Managers guide the product definition, creation, and improvement process by collecting and synthesizing knowledge and leading collaborative, agile software development teams to ensure product success. Our Product Managers serve simultaneously as market analysts, user group champions, product evangelists, analytics junkies and visionary team leaders. Product Managers at Digital Services typically own two to three hosted digital products from our suite of a dozen developed solutions in support of our 270 member stations across the nation.
This senior position will be responsible for guiding one of our three multi-disciplinary agile product development teams, owning our web-based news and media publishing tools. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of news and media (audio, text, images, data) in the hands of new digital audiences and a vision for its future, for the rapidly evolving world of digital product development and for how technology, content and people come together.
6+ years relevant online work experience leading digital media product development in a Product Management or similar role.
Experience leveraging digital analytics for tracking product goals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to present/demo complex ideas and products to a large group, author compelling, public-facing product materials, and work directly with clients and executives.
Understanding of the creative process in a collaborative environment; ability to incorporate both internal stakeholder and user feedback; team player in a fast-paced work environment, always showing respect for the diverse constituencies at NPR and within the public radio system.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines; ability to multitask and self-manage the deadlines of competing projects.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent required. MBA or equivalent Masters degree preferred.
